Bernard Arnault was born on March 5, 1949, in Roubaix in northern France, into a family of industrialists. Three planets in Pisces gather in the 7th house, the Sun sits at the apex of a yod with nearly exact aspects, and the Ascendant on the last degree of Leo falls on the star Regulus.
What is known and what is not
The date and place are confirmed by independent sources: the official LVMH biography, Wikidata, Astro-Databank and Astrotheme. The Académie des sciences morales et politiques recalls, in its welcome speech, the family construction firm in Roubaix that he took over at 26.
The time of 5:00 p.m. comes from Astrotheme, which cites a birth certificate or birth record contributed by the collector Didier Geslain. Astro-Databank gives the same time from the Geslain archive and notes that Daisy Van de Vin quotes the same hour from the birth certificate. No copy of the document is public. That is why the Rodden rating is AA* rather than AA. We found no other version.
We cast the chart for 17:00 Central European Time (UTC+1); France kept no summer time in 1949. The coordinates are those of central Roubaix, since the maternity clinic is not known. The Ascendant is at 28°57′ Leo, and a birth about five minutes later would already put it in Virgo.
A Pisces stellium in the 7th house
The Sun at 14°45′ Pisces, Venus at 4°04′ Pisces and Mars at 17°17′ Pisces share one sign and one house, which makes a stellium. The Sun and Mars form a conjunction with an orb of 2°31′.
Tradition links the 7th house with partners, contracts and open rivals, and a crowd of planets there is read as a life shaped through dealings with others. Two planets of the stellium sit on fixed stars: the Sun within 0°11′ of Achernar, and Venus within 0°56′ of Fomalhaut, one of the four royal stars.
Two yods with the Sun and Mars at the apex
Neptune at 14°34′ Libra and Pluto at 14°42′ Leo form a sextile with an orb of 0°08′. The Sun is quincunx Pluto with an orb of 0°02′ and quincunx Neptune with an orb of 0°11′. Together they make a yod with the Sun at the apex, and an unusually exact one: all three aspects fall within a quarter of a degree. Mars forms a second, wider yod on the same base: quincunx Neptune with an orb of 2°43′ and quincunx Pluto with an orb of 2°34′.
The quincunx joins signs that share neither element nor mode, and tradition describes it as an angle of constant adjustment. In a yod the strain of two quincunxes meets at the apex. Here the apex is the Sun in the house of partnership, while the base runs from Neptune in the 2nd house, the house of one's own resources, to Pluto in the 12th.
A fixed T-square with the Moon near the MC
Mercury at 18°21′ Aquarius opposes Pluto, orb 3°39′. The Moon at 17°42′ Taurus squares Mercury with an orb of 0°39′ and squares Pluto with an orb of 2°59′. Aquarius, Leo and Taurus belong to the fixed cross, so this is a T-square with the Moon at the apex.
The Moon sits in the 9th house, about a degree before the MC at 18°42′ Taurus. Tradition ties the fixed cross with persistence and steady pressure in one direction. The Moon is exalted in Taurus, and its closeness to the top of the chart is read as personal tastes becoming part of the public image.
The Ascendant on Regulus
The Ascendant at 28°57′ Leo lies within 0°09′ of Regulus, the heart of the Lion. Tradition counts Regulus among the royal stars and links it with high rank. A retrograde Saturn at 1°50′ Virgo is also in the 1st house, and Venus opposes Saturn with an orb of 2°13′, so the axis of the 1st and 7th houses carries weight at both ends. The star holds the Ascendant only if 17:00 is exact.
