Kylian Mbappé was born on December 20, 1998, at 1:47 a.m. in the 19th arrondissement of Paris, a few months after France first won the World Cup. His Ascendant is in Libra, and Mars stands next to it in the 1st house. Mars squares a tight conjunction of the Moon and Venus in Capricorn, and that knot sets the tone of the chart.
What is known and what is not
Several independent sources give the date and place. The French Football Federation profile names December 20, 1998, and Paris 19e; the Real Madrid player profile and Wikidata give the same date and Paris.
The time of 1:47 a.m. comes from two data collectors. Astro-Databank credits the collector Lepoivre, who quotes the birth certificate. Astrotheme gives the same time with a note on the civil registry entry, birth certificate no. 4993. No copy of the document has been published, and neither Mbappé nor his family has stated the time in public as far as we found, so we give a Rodden rating of AA*, a birth record held by a data collector. We found no other version of the time. His full name at birth, according to Astro-Databank, is Kylian Mbappé Lottin.
No source names the maternity hospital, so the coordinates are those of the centre of the 19th arrondissement, near its town hall. They match the Astro-Databank coordinates. We cast the chart for 1:47 a.m. Central European Time (UTC+1); in December France was on standard time, not daylight time. The Ascendant from our calculation matches the one in Astro-Databank and Astrotheme.
Mars on the Ascendant, square the Moon and Venus
The Ascendant is at 9°07′ Libra and Mars at 12°17′ Libra in the 1st house, only a few degrees further on. Tradition treats a planet in the 1st house close to the Ascendant as one of the most visible in a chart: it colours a person's manner and how others see them. Astrologers describe Mars in Libra, a sign ruled by Venus, as action through timing and calculation rather than a head-on charge.
The Moon at 10°17′ Capricorn and Venus at 10°22′ Capricorn form a conjunction with an orb of 0°05′, the most exact aspect in the chart. Both sit in the 3rd house, a little more than a degree before the IC. Mars squares Venus with an orb of 1°54′ and the Moon with an orb of 2°00′. The MC at 11°32′ Cancer lies opposite the Moon and Venus, so all of these points stand in cardinal signs between 10 and 13 degrees.
Tradition reads a cardinal square as tension that pushes toward action and quick decisions. The Moon and Venus in Capricorn are linked with reserved feelings and a serious attitude to duty; Mars pressing on them, with a constant inner contest.
Mars also has an easier outlet: a trine to Uranus at 10°21′ Aquarius in the 4th house, with an orb of 1°55′. Tradition connects Mars-Uranus contacts with sudden, explosive action.
A Sagittarius stellium in the 3rd house
The Sun at 27°54′ Sagittarius, Mercury at 6°22′ Sagittarius and Pluto at 8°40′ Sagittarius form a stellium in the 3rd house. Mercury and Pluto are conjunct with an orb of 2°17′. Sagittarius traditionally describes movement, open space and belief in a goal; the 3rd house covers siblings, the close circle and early learning. Both of Kylian's brothers, Ethan and Jirès, also played professionally, and his father coached young players at AS Bondy, the club Kylian joined at five, in 2004.
Astrologers read a Mercury-Pluto conjunction as a focused mind that holds on to one idea for a long time.
The Sun trine Saturn
The Sun forms a trine to a retrograde Saturn at 26°51′ Aries in the 7th house, with an orb of 1°03′. The North Node at 23°27′ Leo completes a fire triangle: the Sun trines the Node with an orb of 4°26′, and Saturn trines the Node with an orb of 3°23′. The Node is not a planet, so most astrologers would not call this a grand trine.
Tradition links a Sun-Saturn trine with discipline that comes without strain and with growing up early. Saturn in the 7th, the house of partners and open rivals, is read classically as relationships with others built as long-term work.
