Kim Kardashian was born on October 21, 1980, in Los Angeles. She has stated her birth time herself, and it matches what data collectors give. The most notable features of the chart are three planets in Libra and a nearly exact opposition from the Moon to Jupiter, which stands right at the MC.
What is known and what is not
Every source agrees on the date: Wikidata, the HELLO! profile, Biography.com, Astro-Databank, Astrotheme and she herself.
The place is less clear. Wikidata, HELLO!, Astro-Databank and Astrotheme say Los Angeles. Biography.com says Beverly Hills, a separate city inside Los Angeles County. Wikidata also carries a second claim, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, but we found no source behind it. Neither the hospital nor Beverly Hills is confirmed, so the chart is cast for central Los Angeles. Cedars-Sinai is about 13 km to the west, a difference that would move the Ascendant by well under a degree.
The time of 10:46 a.m. comes from Astro-Databank, rated AA: the birth certificate was submitted by the collector Alexander Angel. Astrotheme gives the same time from the same collector. On October 12, 2020, Kardashian wrote on Twitter (now X) that her KKW Beauty brand would launch The Opalescent Collection "at 10:46am on October 21st, the exact time and date I was born". No copy of the certificate has been published, so the Rodden rating is AA*, with her own words as a second source for the same time. We found no other version.
We cast the chart for 10:46 Pacific Daylight Time (PDT, UTC-7); in 1980, US daylight time lasted until October 26. The MC is at 28°26′ Virgo, close to the Libra boundary, so a birth a few minutes later would already put it in Libra.
A Libra stellium
The Sun at 28°29′ Libra, Saturn at 3°41′ Libra and Pluto at 21°58′ Libra form a stellium. Saturn and Pluto are in the 10th house, while the Sun has just crossed into the 11th. Jupiter at 28°52′ Virgo is also in the 10th house and conjoins Saturn with an orb of 4°49′ across the sign boundary.
Tradition links Libra with partnership, taste and the search for balance, and the 10th house with career and public reputation. Classical astrology counts Saturn as exalted in Libra. Astrologers read two heavy bodies of the stellium in the upper part of the chart as a character that builds itself through visible results and long work in public.
The Moon, Jupiter and the MC axis
The Moon at 28°09′ Pisces is in opposition to Jupiter with an orb of 0°42′. Jupiter sits in the 10th house less than half a degree from the MC, and the Moon lies across the axis at the end of the 3rd house, near the IC. The Sun is quincunx the Moon with an orb of 0°19′ and semisextile Jupiter with an orb of 0°23′. The result is a knot of four points, all around the 28th degree of their signs.
Tradition treats Jupiter at the MC as one of the classic signatures of public visibility and of growth in what a person shows the world. Astrologers read the Moon-Jupiter opposition as large, generous feeling and a need to share private life with an audience. The Sun's quincunx to the Moon adds constant adjustment between how a person sees herself and what she needs.
Venus between Mercury and Neptune
Venus at 19°36′ Virgo in the 9th house is sextile Mercury at 19°48′ Scorpio with an orb of 0°12′, the tightest major aspect in the chart. The same Venus squares Neptune at 20°35′ Sagittarius with an orb of 0°58′. Neptune is in the 1st house, below the Ascendant at 13°44′ Sagittarius.
Tradition links a Mercury-Venus sextile with easy, pleasant speech and a feel for form. In the classic reading, the square from Venus to Neptune describes an idealised image of beauty and love, and a gap between that image and everyday life. Astrologers read Neptune in the 1st house as an appearance onto which others readily project their expectations.
